I've found that installing an insulated banana jack on the rear of the D, then running a wire from the 5vdc on the cassette port to the jack is pretty handy. Clip off the cassette jack from your printer interface and replacing it with a banana plug. If you want to get tricky, put a switch in the circuit and mount that on the back too, so you can reset the interface. Anyway, works for me.
