You can decide converting to PDF, which is the best format of all (I simply never had problems with reading PDF documents, be on any platforms from DOS to Linux), the best compressed and also the best in integrating all (different!) parts of the document, though, it's proprietary. Or you can fiddle and also make others fiddle with not-so-correct solutions, either in their readability, size or structure. I remember, PDF readers are free for all platforms.
