Cool responses in this thread. I'll admit that I haven't named my CBM 8-bit computers, except for the black c128d stuffed with an internal CMD HD and a FD-4000 disk drive. (I called it Nirvana.) Anyway, someone remarked about the PETs being named as Sphinxes. I'm sure that is correct, because one of the earliest, if not the first, users group in the U.S. was called The Sphinx, and was based in the San Francisco, California region. Of course, TPUG in Canada beat everbody to the punch for grabbing the first CBM 8-bit users group honors.
