Thus, a 1541 is out of question. Anyway, the 1541 is just a 2031 where the IEC parallel bus has been replaced by an IEC serial bus. The 2031 and the 1541 share the same disk format. BTW: The 4040 shares the disk format, too. Thus, another option would be to connect a 1541 to your PC, transfer the data to it using some of the available tools (like Star Commander, cbm4linux, cbm4win), put the floppy into a 2031 or 4040 drive, and read it from there into the PET.
