Hello all... I decided to come out of lurking for a moment to let yall know about some new files I uploaded to the firmware area of ftp.zimmers.net/pub/cbm. One is a pair of Commodore 264 BASIC and KERNAL roms from Jim Brain's 264 prototype. I had always suspected they were just plain olde common Plus/4 ROMs, so I made no rush about investigating. But I discovered that they both have slight differences here and there. The chips had no part numbers -- they were eproms with only BASIC 2/3 and KERNAL 2/3 written on them. The other is a pair of chips from the Japanese C64 I just acquired from way over yonder. They include a character rom (part number 906143-02), and a KERNAL rom (part number 906145-02). The BASIC in the machine was a standard issue 901226-01. I know there are those of you who will enjoy poking around those kernal and basic roms to determine the differences, and I'm pretty sure most of those people are here, so enjoy! - Bo Message was sent through the cbm-hackers mailing list
