I haven't been impressed with their software/documentation. Then again, that's true for pretty much all of the lab equipment manufacturers: very expensive precision hardware, el crappo documentation and software. This particular device is pretty straightforward, though, and perhaps a motivated individual could even crack one open to see what kind of chip(s) it uses.
