Hallo allemaal, Just an update. It's taxtime over here so I'm busy to calculate how much tax I can get back (yes, you read it right). My wife threatened me with an axe so I had to clean up my room again (the deal is that everything that sticks out of my room is chopped in pieces by my wife :). Today I start a new MSCE course so even less time left :( Last weeks I have been going over all kind of little bugs, mostly noticed by Dirk Kleppke. The most annoying was that a german program, Commander 64, didn't cooperate with my program but did with IEC-ATA, running on a ATMEGA16, and the Shugart interface of my PDC Clipper. Thus two not so 1541-compatible machines! Solved the mystery and answered a question I asked some two (?) month ago about the syntax table. It seems I found something that isn't documented in any book yet. Don't worry, it is documented in my own 1541 disassembly. I'm still busy with the subdirectory. The major problem I have is that deleting a subdirectory doesn't work as it should. The idea is to check if the directory is empty or not. If not, the directory shouldn't be deleted. Just guess what my program does.... I'm also already working on the 16 MB version. This means I have to deal with a complete different BAM system. At this moment I have troubles with understanding the procedures at $F011, $F05B and $F0A5. Another thing is that I have to reserve room for the BAM table. My idea is to use the first 32 sectors of track 0. I cannot use track 0 for data as this number is used for telling a link that this is the last sector of a link. But it doesn't stop me to access the sectors on this track directly using the LBA method. One possible problem: these sectors cannot be accessed by the M-R or M-W commands. (hmmm, thinking this over: is this so? Does the 1541 check what track is accessed using this command? If so, I can make it to allow it :) Remarks and ideas are still welcome! -- ___ / __|__ / / |_/ Groetjes, Ruud \ \__|_\ \___| URL: Ruud.C64.org De informatie in dit e-mailbericht is vertrouwelijk en uitsluitend bestemd voor de geadresseerde.
