I have a print of the  "BASIC 4.0 Memory Map" and "PET 4.0 ROM Routines" 
both compiled by Jim Butterfield.  I have additional notes about the BASIC 
4.0 String Bug, User Callable Kernel Routines and so on.  Sounds like 
exactly what you are referring to - three column, etc.

Please advise.
