For what it is worth, I do not remember receiving that message or Ethan's
reply. Maybe there was something wrong with the mailing list server?
Coincidentally, I just had a hard disk failure on Tuesday. Luckily, I had
a fresh backup, and it seems that rsync was able to restore from the failed
disk those few files that were written since the backup was taken. This
was just some email, in the maildir format of mutt (one file per message).
