The text notes it's only used on Newtronics mechs. The Zimmers archive note for this ROM tells that it was used in in 1541-II models with belt driven mechanic -- to my knowledge, 4 different mechanics were used in combination with the 1541-II (Chinon, JPN, Newtronics and another one). Although I do own such a belt driven 1541-II I cannot find a ROM with this IC number around here. So, probably, this IC number relation is no strong rule? > However, I split the file and did a compare to the other files. And these fixes must also be contained in the 1541-II ROM with revision number -03. http://www.zimmers.net/anonftp/pub/cbm/firmware/drives/new/1541/1541C.251968-02.txt > Am I overlooking something? Nothing that I would aware of. Maybe the Newtronics mechanic needs a different handling or other timing parameters that were destroyed by all the fixes for the updated ROMs and therefore an older ROM version was put into a 16kB ROM.
