Yesterdays conclusions were based on tests in VICE at work and were
confirmed by my 8296-D unit at home last evening. On the other hand one
thing didn't run as expected: the drive didn't reset after the U3
command; at least I didn't notice anything visual and I didn't see a
delay between the two listings. So I decided this morning to run the PRG
on VICE once more and surprise.... no delay either! So instead jumping
to the reset routine I wrote a little ML that should cause a delay of a
few seconds:

That ran as expected. Now I have to test this at home again.
