That's true but this is a different story. The CrO2 tapes were of different type and required higher bias current to be properly recorded, hence no surprise that they gave you problems. Simply the regular C2N and clones didn't have the option of adapting the recording parameters to CrO2. Still the type and quality were two different things. There were very good Type I (Fe2O3) and very poor Type II (CrO2)[*] tapes available. * - Other magnetic materials and mixtures were also used so Fe2O3 and CrO2 became synonyms of "Type I" and "Type II" even if the magnetic layer was made of other chemical ingredients. -- SD!
