Hallo Anders, > On the other hand, I gave those drives away for postage in > case they can be repaired, and replacing a broken SASI drive > board with an IDE or memory card interface might be > considered one kind of repair if you keep the DOS board > limiting yourself to partitions of 5 or 7.5 MB each. :-D Don't worry, I won't scrap them. I'll even keep the parts that don't work. But I want to have working ones, even if it means replacing hardware with modern equivalents, just like you mentioned. But having a working replacement, I certainly would go a step further by trying to access the whole 16 MB range as the 5/7.5 MB limit is caused by the hardware IMHO, not by the software. And, only if possible without soldering, I would like to use the rest of the harddisk as well by adding partitions in one or another way. As the 90x0 is NOT equiped with a 6530 but with a 6522 and EPROM, this should be doable as well. FYI: just found an email from you, date 30 June 2005, where you mention the same idea regarding using the whole 16 MB range :) -- ___ / __|__ / / |_/ Groetjes, Ruud \ \__|_\ \___| URL: Ruud.C64.org De informatie in dit e-mailbericht is vertrouwelijk en uitsluitend bestemd voor de geadresseerde.
