I thought that could be a problem but I wasn't as aware if it as I should have been. I had set Vice to NTSC-M Though. I went back and tried the 3 copy of Giana I had. The first one was a Pal version. The second was corrupt maybe because all I saw was clouds. The third was a NTSC version so I copied it to disk and loaded it on the 1541. I got the crack screen then the display went black. I reloaded it in Vice and it worked in PAL-G, NTSC-M and Old NTSC modes. Is there a good way to tell if a program is PAL or NTSC. Good call and thanks! -----Original Message----- From: owner-cbm-hackers@ling.gu.se [mailto:owner-cbm-hackers@ling.gu.se] On Behalf Of Niklas Ramsberg Sent: Tuesday, September 29, 2009 04:52 To: cbm-hackers@ling.gu.se Subject: Re: .D64 to Disk Could it be that you're running PAL games on an NTSC machine? AFAIK most cracked games downloadable on the net are PAL versions. It could be that some games need the longer time between raster redraws you get in a PAL C64. The default setting in VICE is PAL, so this may explain why they work in VICE and not on your real C64. Niklas Ramsberg, aka < . (:) Bacon < .
