Bill, Sooo..... Bad 64C? Got one you would sell cheap? Heh...damn! Crazy thing is that I was given the 64C and bought everything else....:). -----Original Message----- From: owner-cbm-hackers@ling.gu.se [mailto:owner-cbm-hackers@ling.gu.se] On Behalf Of B Degnan Sent: Friday, October 23, 2009 20:38 To: cbm-hackers@ling.gu.se Subject: Re: More detail... I downloaded the file you recommended and copied it to disk. I ran the CBM-* file and it came up with "Waiting for a call" just like in the emulator. The file Blocks used on all the files matched what was shown in DirMaster, WinVice and Disk (is DirMaster ok or should I dl yours?)I saw 2, 39, 4, 4, 5, 6, 8, 8, 8, 9, 9, 9, 9, 9. The Blocks free matched also matched, DirMaster = WinVice = Disk (535 free). Golden13 also ran and created a "Winner Board" and asked if I wanted to update scores. > > > I guess this proves that you can build a disk and run a text only BASIC program - you can successfully build a disk. Now you can focus on the other variables. I have plenty more "normal" D64 files on my web site to download in the d64 library directory, these were all made from original disks by me, and uploaded to my web site. No tweaking. I am sure a small percentage may not work (ie if the disk was bad, the copy will be bad too), caveot emptor. It sounds like you have the utilities you need, but I have alternatives on my site if you need them, things that I have found that work. I was able to build the Bedlam image on a C128 that I bought at the local flea market and a 1541 drive. (using MMC64 and RR-NET with WarpCopy64). It's a 201 block program, pretty hefty. I am in the process of loading the file.....and....and....it works. Cool game. Definitely a good test in that it pushes your hardware to the limit.
