I have one of the PAL 128D's (made in W. Germany) and just upgraded the 1571 
rom from 310654-03 to 310654-05 using a 27512 EPROM where I had to do a 
$8000 offset because of the pinout of the 27512 :-), anyway I've never seen 
a metal case C128D here i Europe. was the PAL C128D PAL based on the same 
motherboard as the NTSC 'plastic case' versions?. I remember reading in a 
magazine about the Amiga release in the US, and we 'poor' Europeans where 
still waiting for the official C128 release...
