Yes. I've been slammed. I was one of two people maintaining an
web-based educational product (electronic classroom for thousands of
students) until right before Xmas. The other guy left the project,
leaving me to keep it all running since then. I've had 5 sleepless
nights in the past week for planned and unplanned maintenance.

As for the PETs, I have identified that the one board needs new
rectifier diodes and have secured replacements. The other PET board
worked perfectly for me with a genuine CBM character ROM, so I have my
doubts that the 2316B-on-an-adapter-board ROM is going to read easily.
That ROM gives me blank chars when installed in the same board. It's
unfortunate since I've been able to (barely) make out the CBM part
number and it seems to be a previously unknown CHRGEN ROM variant.

Ultimately, I need to build a reverse 6540-2316B adapter so I can read
the ROM in a standard EPROM reader/writer to see if I can get any
contents from it. Beyond that, it'd be a case of getting one of Jim
Brain's adapters and throwing a newish ROM into it to at least get the
board working again.

That's as far as I've been able to get since the Holidays started -
they may be "time off" for some people, but not for me.
