When I decided which tool to use - some time ago already - I don't think KiCAD was ready. So I actually bought the non-profit version, that allows to make larger boards (Eurocard, 160x100mm). I think it is still restricted to 1 page of schematics and six layers (although I've only used two so far) http://www.cadsoft.de/nonprofit.htm.en I remember thinking that $125 (or what I was paying then) was still much for me back then, but it works well for me. I regularly do my own parts though, reusing the packages that come with Eagle. But that gives me the flexibility to say provide a bus-optimized 74LS688 package :-) André -- GRATIS: Spider-Man 1-3 sowie 300 weitere Videos!
