the question is, would an iec bus chain with 30 devices still work at all? i 
seriously doubt it =) even with just 4 drives i remember having to use extra 
short cables (ie, shorter than the one that came with the drives) to make it 
work reliable.

i seriously wonder what the official numbers are though... they must be 
mentioned somewhere? mmh
