My regular setup, which is there to stay is always connected three CBM drives (1541, 1571, 1581). Additionally XM1541, uIEC. Occasionally printer and/or plotter connected. Other devices, which occupy device numbers (like IDE64 - 13, 14) are not on the IEC bus. So - yes, I agree - six devices is reasonable, eight is unlikely to get exceeded. -- SD!
