I have implemented hd floppies with basically a 1581 setup. Not even sure I needed a 2mhz 6502. Overclocked the 1770 though. Details are on my cs/a computer web page. As far as I remember, in Amiga HD drives they simply slowed down disk rotation by half, so that the data arrives at the same speed. Similar technique could be used here. Regards, Michau.
