BTW, I once had an email conversation with the author of that hardware. I 
already knew that he made a similar design based on the 6526 for c't 
magazine (I own that hardware), but he told me that he made a third version 
based on the 6522 as well, which he sold to a third company :)

The c't article also has some documented sourcecode, but only for the C64.
