I've finally analyzed the schematics on the kim1 tape interface and checked the code in rom. Apparently the LM311 + LM565 are just used to convert the 2 frequencies received by 1 or 0. I can probably do that with an avr tiny and less glue components. (and less cost 2€ for a ATTINY13-20PU, LM311 0.25€ LM565 3€) -- Didier -----Message d'origine----- De : owner-cbm-hackers@musoftware.de [mailto:owner-cbm-hackers@musoftware.de] De la part de didier derny Envoyé : mardi 11 septembre 2012 14:17 À : cbm-hackers@musoftware.de Objet : Re: memory failure / kim-1 I'm not using the original kim-1 but the new kim-1 made by Vince Briel. on the new kim-1 the tape interface is not wired. (he is planning to build an extension later). I was thinking to rebuild the analogic part, so I was trying to understand the schematics. (Page 31 Kim manual) if I understand in the "great lines" I dont totally understand the purpose of each component.
