You must initialise KERNAL first, and BASIC, before you can run
anything.

While this is possible, it takes up more valuable bytes.

Having a quick look, I believe patching $E39D-$E39F might be what the Ted
wants. Also, patching the BASIC coldstart vector at $A000/$A001 might
work in his special case if he writes into the keyboard table.

Anyway, as you, I am not sure that writing keyboard input might be so
much better than calling the load routines directly.
