RE: C64 won't let me send my data during Talk

In the early '90 I had a program that emulated a 1541 written in Pascal. The communication part worked fine. Some years later I tried it again on a faster PC. There was some initial communication but the things stopped. On the old PC things worked fine. I changed some timings and things worked on the newer PC as well.

What also comes to my mind: waiting too long after having sent the 8th bit with (re)setting the CLK signal will be seen as an End-Of-File by the C64. (don't ask me for details, it has been too long ago) Have a look at that as well.
