My HP150 from 1983 has single sided 3.5" disk drives, made by Sony, which hold 270k. The disks even have a clip to hold the shutter open with a "pinch" label to release the shutter. When they are inserted into the drive, the drive doesn't push the shutter over that far that it has to be manually released, so I don't know why they did that.
