I have used the second cassette port in the fat forty and 8032 with no problems. If you have a specific example of something that does not work, I would be interested in seeing it. The height of the fat forty video display can be adjusted so that nothing goes off the screen. You will have to open up the display. There is a vertical size adjustment inside. The location depends on the exact version of the video board. Commodore shipped the fat forty with the vertical size adjusted so the first line went off the top of the screen in text mode.
