I also already thought about that, though it would make more sense on
the original NTSC boards with the old 6567 chip, which produces better
timing from an 8MHz source. I think we had this discussion sometimes
already, and the old RS232 tables for 1MHz operation would also match
that.

I didn't have time to analyze the circuit yet, and I'd also love to see
a similar photograph of the original board first. The only one I've got
isn't as detailed, and the VIC cage is closed anyway :-(

Also, the XT mount doesn't look as if a standard oscillator would fit, I
remember them somewhat smaller. But I didn't try, maybe I should.
