It's been a long time between drinks with Windows 3.11. From memory, you may need to specify the svga mode in the [DISPLAY] section of system.ini. SVGAMODE=106 Is the stanza you should add to system.ini (or change, if the statement is already there). That should lock it to 800x800, 50Hz. You might also need to exclude MDA memory from emm386.
