So, comment out those two calls; and, see if it makes a difference (I hope that it doesn't; but, we need to be sure). 2) Try adding a half-cycle phase shift (relative to the internal clock): After the RESET line is raised to 10V, delay for one external-clock cycle, then start sending the byte sequence.
