There's currently no way to read/write raw data over the HPIB bus? Was hoping maybe I could plug it into Linux and get a nice entry in /dev that I could mess with the bus from. There’s no reason why you can’t implement something like this, and the existing GPIB code for talking to PET drives should be a good starting point. > > http://sourceforge.net/p/opencbm/code/ci/master/tree/ > Host code: opencbm > Firmware: xum1541 > In particular: http://sourceforge.net/p/opencbm/code/ci/master/tree/xum1541/ieee.c > > Hope that helps you get started. > > -Nate > > On Jul 25, 2014, at 8:09 AM, Chris Osborn <fozztexx@fozztexx.com> wrote: > >> I just got one of the ZoomFloppy USB converters with the HPIB interface included. I decided to get that one because of all the open source USB to HPIB converters, it was the cheapest. My ultimate goal is to be able to use the ZoomFloppy to emulate an HPIB disk drive, either with the HPDrive project or something else. >> >> I don't have the time at the moment to try to write any software and I'm hoping someone else has tried it and can give me some pointers. If there's really nothing out there I will probably try to write my own software, but I don't know how soon I can get to it. >> >> >> Message was sent through the cbm-hackers mailing list > > > Message was sent through the cbm-hackers mailing list Message was sent through the cbm-hackers mailing listReceived on 2014-07-25 18:02:13
