First, any members of this series will start up and drop you into Tedmon if no Basic ROM can be found during boot. (As to how and why the Basic is unavailable, might be another story... that is, physically absent, nonfunctional, some problems with ROM CS' decoding etc. etc.) Second, these machines would also start up in Tedmon if one holds Run/Stop down during reset or powerup. As you said, your usb thing is not fully correct yet, it might be accidentally holding Run/Stop.
