Hello, since some days, I am building nightly builds of VICE for Debian 6.0 (and higher). You can find them here: http://software.opensuse.org/download.html?project=home%3Astrik&package=vice They should also work on Ubuntu. Things to come: 1. support RPM based distros Currently, the .spec files from the VICE distribution fail. If you have more experience with the building of RPMs than I have, feel free to contact me! 2. build other variants of VICE (i.e. XAW, GnomeUI, SDL) and let the user select between them. 3. factor out common files, so the files do not need to be repeated in all variants of VICE (cf. 2) 4. factor out the VICE ROMs so they can be used with the Debian package that is included out of the box, too. 5. (if needed): Add other Debian variants and Debian derivates if the packages do not work there. Currently, I am not aware of any problems, though. Regards, Spiro. -- Spiro R.
