RE: PLA replacement for C64

FYI: I repaired (and still do) a lot of C64's. In the 90's most of the times the CIA's were the troubleshooters (but the system started up). If the system didn't start up at all, most of the time (> 90%) it was the PLA. Second trouble shooter is the system ROM. VIC-II: two in 30 years, 6510: none. Other rare cases: brooken crystal, 8701, modulator, 7805, 7812.

So replacing the PLA is a very good bet.
