Not all earlier boards had 5-pin A/V socket. Yeah I didn't mean that all the preceding boards had 5 pin A/V, maybe "Earliest ones" would have been better choice of words. I have an early c64 with serious issues, if I can get a reloaded I want to try the VIC II to see if it's that. Something about it doesn't like 1 x-scroll value, which causes random glitches when there is text of different colours next to each other. It's always done it, but early games were less affected because either nobody did full screen scrolling games with different colours or they didn't scroll by 1 pixel at a time. The first game I remember being unplayable was stormlord and because the value that caused the problem was odd, I hacked it to mask out bit 0 of the scrolling. I even put in a prompt at the start, I'll have to dig that out one day. Message was sent through the cbm-hackers mailing listReceived on 2017-02-18 22:00:35
