Pre ECS it was a pain if you wanted to import games, due to timing and borders/overscan. Which meant that european games were less likely to make their way to America. Might be. To be frank I wasn't doing anything worth mentioning on pre-ECS Amigas. I had one A500/1.2 at that time but I found it to be a PITA to do anything with it, using only the built-in floppy. So it was mostly collecting dust while I rocked with my Dolphin-equipped C64 ;-) > It was annoying that we never got a pal video toaster, having to standard convert to ntsc and then back to pal killed the cost and quality The problem was that even if they eventually made it, it would have come far too late to make a difference on PAL markets. By the time it was rumoured I had already an extensive library of Arexx scripts controlling ADPro, Fred, ImageFX, PAR/AD3000.. They were doing most things I needed and more than the Toaster. Not in real time, obviously but since I wasn't working with live transmissions, at that point in time I probably wouldn't buy the PAL Toaster, even if it eventually came. And no, as you mentioned, NTSC Toaster was not a viable alternative for broadcast quality productions. -- SD! - http://e4aws.silverdr.com/ Message was sent through the cbm-hackers mailing listReceived on 2017-11-05 11:01:07
