Yes, I've thought about building a new CBM-II motherboard. I'd replace all the DRAM with two 512K SRAM's for maximum ram capacity. I'd also put RAM under the BANK15 ROMs so that you could soft-load your own OS or even PET ROMs. The PLAs could be modified so that video memory could be relocated to match the PET location as well as the IO chips etc. Colour would be nice as well. In terms CRTC I'd go with the HD63B45P as it supports split-screen windows and smooth scrolling. Adding a VIC-II would be problematic since it will limit the CPU to 1MHz. It would be nice if we could use a 4MHz (or 3.54MHz) CPU for extra speed or a 65816. It's nice to dream ;-) Yes, when I add a link Yahoo mail inserts a "preview" pane, but I can undo that and have a plain text link. Maybe it would be an idea to build a complete "CBM-II 2.0" (with the proposed 6509 replacement) with for example color integrated? (Maybe even something that can take both VIC-II and 6*45 CRTC :) ) Btw, for some reasons your links is only visible in the HTML version of your mails. I have my mail client set to display the plain text version first if there are multiple versions, so I didn't see the link immediately. -- (\_/) Copy the bunny to your mails to help (O.o) him achieve world domination.
