Hallo allemaal, I ran into an interesting thing last weekend. First I found an official cadsoft site where you can download the older Eagle versions: ftp://ftp.cadsoft.de/eagle/program/7.7/ Here I downloaded 7.7 for Windows-32 and installed it on my honey pot laptop. As expected when converting my SCH of the CBM 8032, it complained that I was not allowed to place ICs outside the given PCB border. Why 7.7? Because I found this youtube movie: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8_I8E9rRsFg It gives you a link where to download the shown crack. And don't worry, there is indeed a virus in the crack. So I ran it on my special honey pot laptop and yes, I now was able to expand the PCB. I just copied the Eagle.exe. Then I took a second computer, installed 7.7 here as well, renamed the original Eagle.exe and copied the hacked one to here. Again I scanned it for the x-ties time for virusses. Now the weird thing: both executables had the same size and only 24 bytes, not in a row, were different. Same size, just 24 different bytes, not something you expect from a virus IMHO. But most important: again, after choosing Eagle Ultimate, I was able to create a board for the CBM 8032 again. Disclaimer: the above is just some information about what I did last weekend and is not meant as encouragement to do illegal things or what ever is punishable by law. So if you corrupt your PC, blow up your mother-in-law or some other nasty things happen to you, then it is YOUR and YOUR fault only. So don't blam me. Oh, don't worry, I restored a ghost and my honey pot laptop (I wished it was an HP instead of a Samsung) is ready for its next mission. -- Kind regards / Met vriendelijke groet, Ruud Baltissen www.Baltissen.org Message was sent through the cbm-hackers mailing listReceived on 2018-01-09 21:00:03
