Immediately after the design of the new "original" card, I created a version with the 8255. It took me less than half an hour and I presented it to Michał as an alternative because of the 6525 (not 6523). So if you want to blame somebody, blame me. You can certainly blame me for forgetting that the 8255 resets the ports when changing the direction of one.

And don't forget that by using the 8255 I even did need less parts: it is the 6525 that is the strange duck in the Intel pond and therefore it need extra parts to fit the timing towards the Intel part.

I thought we had explained clear enough that the use of the 8255 had no impact on the used software. So please give me just one example of software that is hindered by it and explain why. TIA!
