I don't have to imagine anything, it's explicit. The on board baud 
generator from a crystal vs external clock falls short of being explicit.

If a datasheet requires you to imagine something then it's flawed 
because your imagination may be wrong.

My point is that either:

1. the datasheet is too vague and it's a supported configuration.

2. the configuration isn't supported and it just happens to work.

I'm not arrogant enough to say for sure either way without seeing a decap.

The "commodore and apple both decided not to use 115200" seems like the 
kind of lie you get from politicians.
