Hi,

Your WordCheck application is a fascinating piece of microcomputer
history! The earliest spell checkers I'm aware of are from the Unix and
DEC operating systems such as Twenex. These were not separate commercial
products though, and ran on minicomputers rather than micros. I'm not
sure they did "stemming", which is what your application was doing.
