Thanks. I sometimes hesitate to purchase from eBay items that need to be of a certain size as you never know exactly what you will get. Buying these from a mainline electronics supplier is expensive though. I borrowed a few different types of header strips from co-workers today and measured them and tested inserting into a socket and the pins that are right at or just under 0.5mm in diameter seem to work the best. Then it comes down to pin length and if the target socket is a typical design or an odd one 😊 Jeff_Birt (Hey Birt!) The PCB is a DF0/DF1 switch adapter PCB for an Amiga. You pull the odd CIA and plug the adapter board in its place and then the CIA plugs into the adapter. The pin header will be used to go from adapter PCB to the socket on the Amiga PCB. I have noticed over the years that some types of pins work much better than others. What I have on hand is the standard square cut pin which is not suitable. A lot of folks will use machine pins which seem to work though I’ve had some that really don’t fit snugly in IC sockets. With the project description out of the way the question is do you all have a favorite type of header for this purpose? If so would you mind sharing a part number?
