Well, VIC needs to get its data and no, we (for a few reasons) didn't want to interfere with it, even if theoretically possible. So the answer is "yes".

But… ;-) there are VASYL commands to help controlling badlines. One can make it wait for next badline (needed for some effects) without calculating its number, one can force badline at any position, etc.

And there are some icing on the cake too - with one command we can turn on/off the annoying HMOS VIC "sparkles" w/o modifications to the board for example as well as enable "Lumafix". This with jumper though :-)
