What makes you think that the Oric-1 is better than the VIC-20? Its hardware is more restrictive. It is slower (a 6502 running at exactly 1 megahertz), its video output is much worse (digital RGB output only, the video chip has a teletext-like functionality that can only be controlled by writing to memory, there is no easy way to read the raster beam position, except a "vertical retrace" signal with a hardware modification), and its keyboard is much worse.
