Hi. Yes, the capture card (bt848-based) has a knob to turn off the comb filter.

I have taken the modulator off my other board & connected color to ground via 1K 
resistor. (Modulator appears to add an insane amount of noise.) Will take some 
scope measurements from pin 14 later, first need to figure out a way to get 
something decent to trigger on.

FWIW both boards have a 6569R5 chip; I suspect the 8565 color output may be 
subtly different.
