RE: 1541/2031 combo adapter

Then it is down for months already. I last visited in June to check something, I bought one of the PCBs, and it was down then as well.

The difference is the size of bytes in the gap between the header and the data. IIRC the -02 ROM and earlier have 8 bytes, the -03 nine. Reading should never be a problem. According several sources writing can. I myself cannot remember having any trouble when using 4040 disks in a 1541 and vice versa. But that was before I heard about the possible problem.
I assume that someone wants to convert a 1541 to a 2031 because not having one or a 4040. If he wants to exchange data with a C64/128 then only the better.
