In my first post on the subject I mentioned that I did a lot of tests with many different combinations of chips and boards, including the RMK2, which handles both HMOS-II and NMOS VICs. Obviously it's still not a full proof but

a) I never heard of anyone experiencing the problem with NMOS VIC.

b) our extensive tests of running a few dozen of VIC chips in eleven variants, including the NMOS Drean one fully confirm that, including running them on a board with the same timing (the RMK2).
