Definitely wouldn't be hard to use that to mod disk geometry to other capacities. I have a couple of TM602S and TM603S mechanisms but I'm not sure they all still work. Back in the day, I paid $$ to get one refurbed (needed a new Track Zero sensor, so since the HDA was already being opened, it wasn't much extra to get new platters. Pretty sure that one still works, but it's still only a few MB. Since ST225s are among the more abundant 5.25" mechs, no reason not to max it out the filesystem limit of ~16MB (but OTOH, who wants 500 files in one place?) What I might do with it is stuff a hard drive full of v3 Infocom game files for running on the PET at Vintage Computer Fairs. Those are the largest files I can think one might use with a PET. -ethanReceived on 2021-11-25 07:00:03
