 Doh, after thinking a bit, I checked my own Dennis Jarvis page:

and I see that there are disks there marked "1541/2031". They look like original combined source for the 1540/1541 and 2031 drives, which makes sense. Only the interface is different.I wish Commodore had used better filenames as it's hard to figure out what file is what. The trick is finding the files that list the proper .LIB lines for the proper interface...
Then I checked the MIST64 github and it appears the 1540 source there has the same files.

yes I've already downloaded and tried to make sense of this. I didn't
yet figure out how to interpret all the files and put together a
working source. Some files in this image appear as programs, other are
assembler source code.
I need to figure out many things about this disk image yet....
