Some versions use 7 bits, others 15. The value they expect seems
unrelated to the serial number that is displayed. Some expect 0xD210,
some expect 0x48  (all msbit first). I probably haven't tried all
versions yet that I came across. There may be more expected values,
and in principle they could be anything.
